Our research integrates novel plasmonic instrumentation, surface chemistries and nanomaterials to analyse biomedical samples and for environmental monitoring. We aim to analyze crude biofluids or environmental samples without extensive preparation of these samples using simple and portable instrumentation.  We are also pushing the frontiers of plasmonic sensing with nanosensors for monitoring cellular secretion events and with multifunctional sensors combining surface plasmon resonance techniques and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) or metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF).
